Assemblies Coordinator

Summary:

The assemblies coordinator helps the principal plan two to four fun/educational assemblies per year that involve inviting outside providers to come to the school. The job includes coordinating with the principal to find and choose interesting outside providers, calling and scheduling with those providers, coordinating the use of the gym, and working within the PTA budget set for assemblies.

Calendar of Responsibilities:

Most of the planning takes place at the beginning of the year. As each assembly approaches, it is a good idea to confirm dates and details with the provider.

Works with:

The assemblies take place in the gym and need to be placed on the school calendar, so the event needs to be coordinated with the school secretary (who manages the school calendar), the PTA facilities volunteer, the hot lunch program, and the motor skill teacher(s). Also, the PTA sets a budget for assemblies, so the assemblies volunteer needs to coordinate with the PTA board member in charge of enrichment (VP3: Vice President - Enrichment).
