Auditor

Board: Yes

Summary:

  • Is a member of the Executive Board.
  • Audits the treasurer’s books twice a year for the periods Jan through June and July through December.  The audit is completed in January and in Sept/October depending on when the information is made available to the auditor.
  • Review all deposits and checks written.  Note immediately any items that seem suspicious or fraudulent.
  • Ensure correct approval procedures for check writing. 
  • Present completed audit to Executive Board for approval.

Note: Prepare audit twice a year as mentioned above.

Bi annually

Receive information from treasurer:  Check copies and backup, bank statements for Money Market and Checking accounts, bank reconciliations, check register and deposit information, and balance sheet.

  • Review all checks written.  Ensure correct documentation and approvals are attached.
  • Checks to board members require special review. 
  • Confirm taxes and insurance have been filed.
  • Confirm that bank balances match Balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare audit:  Calculate total disbursements and deposits and add to beginning balance to calculate ending balance. 
  • Make copies and present audit to the Executive Board for approval.
