Summary:
This job is easy to do in your spare time.
The Boxtops for Education Volunteer collects boxtops that parents drop off at the school, sends them in to the program headquarters for credit, and publicizes the program to parents. A booklet on the program is sent to the school from Boxtops headquarters.
Checks are issued by the Boxtops program twice a year. The box tops must be collected in bundles of 50, a submission form filled out, and together they must be mailed to the program. The box tops also need to be trimmed down to size to easily bundle them.
Information regarding the program should be submitted to The Pink in order to educate parents, and put on the public school bulletin boards as well.
Calendar of Responsibilities:
September/October
- Publicize program (submit to the Pink Section)
- Put out boxes for collection of boxtops
- Regularly pick up boxtops from school and start trimming and bundling in bundles of 50
- Mail in boxtops and submission form by 10/31 for 12/15 payment date
November - March (Sometimes the second mailing will be due on a different date)
- Continue to publicize
- Continue to collect boxtops, trim, and bundle
- Mail in boxtops and submission form by 2/28 for 4/15 payment date
Helpful Tools & Tips:
Throw a little bundling party before the turn in date to get a few friends to help. Get some middle schoolers to do this for community service time.
