Backpack Mail Distribution

Summary:

Backpack mail is distributed each week by the webmaster electronically to all families at Neil Cummins with email access.  Paper copies are distributed to families without email on the first day of the school week (usually Monday).  This is done by the school’s administrative assistant during recess (so instruction time is not interrupted).  Paper copies are taken to the classroom of the student.

Electronic backpack mail is comprised of the PINK, Community page and any flyers and forms.  All flyers and forms must be approved by the principal and sent to bpmdocuments@neilcummins.org

The initial backpack mail distribution at the beginning of the school year is done in paper/hard copy.  This distribution consists of 13-15 pieces of paper that is compiled by student and distributed to each classroom.  10-12 volunteers help compile and distribute these packets.  Lyndia provides the majority of the elements for these packets.  Compilation is done on Friday preceding the start of the school year around 10:00 in the morning.  Recruit 10 -12 volunteers to help.  Compilation and distribution takes about 2 -3 hours.
