Summary:

Organize Gardening Mornings periodically thoughout the year
This effort entails contacting the list of vounteers (who sign up through the coupon program) though e-mail; running a description of gardening morning in "The Pink" to enlist additional volunteers. The purpose is to do general clean up of the campus planted areas. The primary tasks are weeding, trash pick-up, and some pruning.  The PTA provides funding in its annual budget to support these tasks.

• Maintain the PTA planter boxes, including:
  
  • two wine barrels by kindergarten entrance
  • wine barrel by front drive up loop
  • two terra cotta planters by flag pole
  • redwood box by front office
  • and the glazed ceramic planters by the front door to the office (which have the new phormiums planted as of 3-16-07).
    
    
• Maintenance of these containers entails:
  • planting new color during gardening days (planning and purchase of new plants)
  • periodic deadheading
  • recuiting and organizing a group of volunteers to water

During the summer, Art (our custodian) moves the planters inside school property and takes over the watering.
