Summary:
The job of the editor is to receive, edit, and compile all appropriate submissions for publishing in the PTA Neil Cummins weekly Community Page (green sheet). The Community Page consists of a single sheet sent electronically every first day of a school week (usually Mondays) to families with email and hard copy to families without email.
Calendar of Responsibilities:
WEEKLY:
- Review all submitted content to ensure conformity to Community Page guidelines.
- Edit and format content under appropriate headings
- Wednesday evening, edit and compile submissions received by Wednesday, 3:00pm cutoff
- Send drafts of Community Page to principal, PTA president, and webmaster for approval on Thursday (allows time for review and necessary changes if required)
- Email electronic copy to school district webmaster (final copy is also emailed to principal, vice-principal, PTA presidents, district superintendent, school secretaries, and Community Page editor as a courtesy and final check).
Helpful Tools & Tips:
- Articles are submitted to the Editor electronically via the school district page http://www.neilcummins.org/submitbpm/item.htm for inclusion in the Community Pages.
- Editor will need to work harmoniously with the school and district webmasters and PTA President.
