Summary:
The Historian:
- Oversees the Yearbook Committee.
- Assembles and preserves a record of activities, board and committee positions and special achievements.
- Acts as custodian of records and other materials pertinent to the history of the association.
- Is responsible for the Honorary Service Awards Program and maintains the permanent records of the Awards Committee.
- Coordinates the annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast.
- Assists the president with the preparation of the association's annual report required by the California State PTA.
- Works with Webmaster to put updated job descriptions on the Neil Cummins website.
- Serves on Nominating Committee.
Calendar of Responsibilities:
Monthly
- Attend PTA Executive Board meetings.
- Check in with Yearbook Committee Heads.
- Update records as needed.
- Update job descriptions/event reports on the Neil Cummins website as they come in.
February
- Begin working with Parliamentarian and others on the Nominating Committee.
March/April
- Start collecting job descriptions and event reports from committee heads and board members. An online file should be sent to you and you forwarded a copy to the webmaster for updating. Organize and update files as they come in, and put them in the Historian binder.
Find out what fourth grade class project is and have perpetual plaque updated.
- Find out who is going to receive the Honorary Service Award and have the perpetual plaque updated.
May
- Coordinate and put on the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast with the Co-Presidents. Details are included in the event report.
- Make volunteer appreciation certificates and an honorary service award certificate.
- Provide job descriptions and event reports as requested for recruiting purposes.

- Bring perpetual plaques to Think Personal, 612 Strawberry Village in Mill Valley.
- It is helpful to have job descriptions and event reports online as well as in the binder.
